Married 9th February 2014

An Interview with Bride, Erin

 Fabric & Brooch Bouquet

The wedding was planned over 5 months

Location: The Homestead Garden, The Briars, Mount Martha

Favourite Memory:  Getting to the top of the steps, looking out Trav, then my friends and family and watch their faces change when they realised i was in a wedding dress about to get married. As we walked down everyone crowded around us for the ceremony, it was beautiful and so intimate. Perfect.

Funny Quotes:  Our entire ceremony was amazing, heart felt and hilarious. To pick only one funny quote is too hard!

Advice for those getting married:  Be organised! DIY is hard work so the more you get done in the beginning the easier the ride.

Why did I choose Nics Button Buds?:  I hate the idea of spending so much on something thats not going to last. I love the thought that maybe someday parts of my bouquet could be used for our own childrens weddings.. not that we have kids.. yet.

Note from Nic:

Erin contacted me at short notice to to request for me to make her a unique piece.  She told me how her wedding was a surprise picnic themed wedding, very laid back with a BBQ, drinks and garden games.  She collected old tale clothes, bed spreads and cushions form op shops to set the scene. The wedding also had a slight Alice in Wonderland Theme.

Travis and Erin met in high school.  Erin told me how she had an interest in gigs, art, and roller derby and that her fiancee Travis loved comics, star wars, model building and that they both shared a love of travel.

The end result was a bouquet in bright vibrant colours and textures incorporating as much as their personalities as i could.  If you were to look closely at the bouquet you will see a variety of charms from a little aeroplane, roller skate and musical note to star wars and Alice in wonderland.  Tis was a super fun bouquet to work on and i got so exctied every time her photographer Jessie-Lou would post photos.  An incredible wedding setting the start of what i am sure is going to be an amazing marriage.
